Gemini brings the gift of rationality and intelligence (I
Think). She is skilled at distributing information and
making connections, skills that make her a good teacher.
She is talkative and wants to communicate. Her symbol is
traditionally the youthful twins.
In tarot her card is The
Lovers (6) which represents the principle of the art and
craft of relating. Here Gemini brings her child like
innocence, curiosity, and playfulness, the journey of
the twins out into the world.
During Gemini time the sun
is growing stronger as we move towards summer. The
child sun has grown into the youth venturing out into
the world to explore and learn. Her sense of self is
growing.
The moon is waxing
from crescent to her first quarter, the sprouted seed
has pushed through the crust of the earth and is
growing. Now is the time to build structure, as the
light increases.
When I worked with
Gemini I found myself drawn to Iris, the Greek rainbow
goddess. As Hera’s messenger she is the bridge between
heaven and earth. To the Greeks she was "the source of
the waters from on high"*.
Water often represents love and feminine wisdom.
The rainbow is often a relief, revealed
against dark clouds after tumultuous storms. This can
be true in our personal process as well, when we are
able to reconnect with our own truth after being
buffeted by the rain and winds of self-doubt,
depression, and other impediments to our life journey.
The rainbow, a visible connector from daily life to the
magical world, appears in a bright, new, rain drenched
world filled with hope and possibility, Gemini’s
freshness and exuberance. Whether one is hunting for
the pot of gold or the glistening route to faerie, the
rainbow is a powerful spirit bridge between a person and
the truth they seek.
